Wedding Photography Timeline
plus sample downloads!
I realize there are so many different situations for a wedding that one set of timeline is not ideal for every wedding. But you need a place to start, so this is a basic timeline that will give you about 8 hours of photography coverage, and what you can expect from it.
For this post, let's assume your ceremony starts at 6 pm. We will make a ceremony as the starting point since that's the most critical part of your wedding. And we will have hair/makeup start at 3 pm.
Every photographer is different on how they handle their timeline, so please consult with your photographer on what works best for them. Your photographer can significantly help with your schedule, so make sure you ask them before pulling your hair out. They will have great insight into what needs to be done and when.
I have also included a detail samples of extended wedding timeline with this blog post, so make sure you check them out. You can download it and use it as a guide on how you want to layout your special day.
To the image on the right is an ideal timeline for 8 hours. Usually with this amount of time, the photographer is capable of capturing everyine you need from your day. You got the getting ready covered, first look, portraits with bride/groom, formals, family, reception, and of course the grand exit.
